Pierce Active Functional Sensory-Motor Assessment form (PAFSMA)
The PAFSMA is a specialized assessment tool designed to evaluate how students with physical and visual challenges achieve active functional sensory-motor abilities as they participate in everyday academic and functional tasks.
This assessment tool measures progress over time by focusing on what students can do—regardless of physical/visual limitations or cognitive difference, while engaging in purposeful, curriculum-based activities that support educational performance.
The PAFSMA allows staff to monitor progress through targeted skill areas, helping teams identify strengths, track improvement, and guide interventions that enhance classroom participation, learning outcomes and promote inclusion.
